González Schain, Nahuel

Nahuel González Schain obtained his degree in Biotechnology in 2001 from Facultad de Ciencias Bioquímicas y Farmacéuticas de la Universidad Nacional de Rosario (UNR). He carried out his thesis degree and a postgraduate experience at Instituto Tecnológico Chascomús (INTECH), by studying nucleus-mitochondrion retrograde signals under the supervision of Dr. Eduardo Zabaleta. He obtained his PhD in 2007 at Universidad de Barcelona (UB), Spain, by studying the control of photoperiodic tuberization in potato plants, under the supervision of Dr. Paula Suárez López. He performed his first postdoctoral experience at Centre de Recerca en Agrigenòmica (CRAG), Barcelona, by studying light signaling pathways under the supervision of Dr. Elena Monte. His second postdoc was carried out at Università degli Studi di Milano (UNIMI), by elucidating thermal stress responses in rice under the supervision of Dr. Martin Kater. He started his career as a researcher of CONICET in 2015, by studying early development in Arabidopsis in the laboratory of Dr. Rodolfo Rasia at Instituto de Biología Molecular y Celular de Rosario (IBR). Dr. González Schain is currently Associate Researcher CONICET at IBR and is conducting three research lines related to signal integration in the control of plant growth and development.
