The IX Argentine Congress of General Microbiology was developed

The 5th, 6th and 7th of August was held in Government Headquarters of the National University of Rosario the IX Congress of General Microbiology , involving researchers and fellows of CONICET .

There were about 180 people , mostly graduate students from various universities and scientific institutions. The conference included some 40 oral presentations and 100 posters .

During the first day in the salon IRICE ( CONICET Premises Rosario ) Workshop “Teaching of Microbiology ” , which was developed with funding from the ASM and with the participation of 40 scholars from around the country took place .

” Evolutionary mechanisms of bacterial resistance to antibiotics mediated by Metallo -beta- lactamase ” was the opening conference of the congress, and was led by Dr. Alejandro Vila , director of the IBR . Also, Dr. Maria Eugenia Farias, of the Microbiological Process Pilot (CONICET Tucumán) Plant Ecosystems spoke about the shortcomings of the Puna ; Dr. Andrea Smania ( Center for Research in Biological Chemistry Córdoba Córdoba- CONICET ) , spoke about the hypermutability in microbial pathogens and Dr. Valeria Souza , National Autonomous University of Mexico , closed the conference with his lecture on Biodiversity in Cuatro Cienegas basin .

The conference was organized by the Argentina Society for General Microbiology ( SAMiGe ) , sponsored by the Institute of Molecular and Cellular Biology of Rosario , CONICET, the American Society for Microbiology (ASM ), the Faculty of Biochemical and Pharmaceutical Sciences at UNR , and the Rosario Tourist .
